I have just noticed an oil leak on my 90 lsc coming from the back and dripping down in several places. She is cherry and only has 40,000 miles on her. Any ideas what it might be? Thanks

Yes it is motor oil. It is dripping down from the rear of the engine. Valve covers are dry.

That's a difficult call without haviong the car lifted and examined with a shop light.

If the valve covers are dry, I would then say the possibilities are the rear crank seal or the oilpan.

Thanks for the input guys. I was fearing it might be a main seal. I am going to try to see if I can find something by puting it on some ramps, if not I guess I will have to go get it looked at.

Find a local garage with a lift and explain. It's much easier to find leaks on a lift. Have some BrakeKleen and rags to clean the underside and isolate the source of the leak.

Just to touch base, oil leak has pretty much stopped. It seems to have been that one day that it was really noticeable. I only see a drip every couple of days if that. Oil Level Stays the same. Looks like God answered another prayer. Thanks again for the input.
