On-site events at Carlisle - Requests

Last year, a number of recommendations were made as a follow up to the event. Some interest was expressed in holding some workshops on the field. It's a three day affair and it might get a little boring at times. Hence, the workshop idea. There are some really knowledgable people at the event who are glad to share, but sometimes a forum is needed to get the information out. The newbies can be a little shy as well, so some workshops would get them involved.

Is there any interest in pursuing this line of thinking? Some workshops suggestion were: Sound systems for your Mark, Detailing and car preparation tips, How to judge cars at the show, Performance tuning tips, Exhaust system tips, Suspension clinic (lowering).

I'd be glad to help organize if there is any interest. I guess we'll see what kind of feedback this generates.

I can do a demo on the cam shim installation. Steve said he would volunteer his car. It will only take 1-2 hours to do and show everyone.

Well...since I have plans on lowering a few Marks (one I am positive of....another one possibly)maybe we could use that as the lowering portion?......just an idea

Hi Ray,

How many can you do while we're up there, and do you want another one? I've been toying with the idea for a while. I read virtually every post available through the search function when we were on the other board, and still have a couple of questions. 1) are there any detrimental effects on the suspension system over time? 2) what happens with the feature of the suspension that causes the car to lower with speed. I have visions of cruising along at my usual 85-90 mph, and suddenly looking like the space shuttle on re-entry.
I guess I need a little convincing.

I would appreciate it any further info you may have, and if you're interested let me know please sir.

Thanks for the response Ray. It did cover them. As far as I know there are no problems with my bags, she can sit for a month, and the compressor doesn't have to run at all when I fire it up. But I think I better leave it alone. I hadn't fully consider potholes. I do a lot of night driving, which wouldn't be to big a problem here in Texas, but I go to NY and other places where the roads aren't that good. It would be my luck to tear something up.

I do appreciate your time though.

Oh, I'm not completely talked out of it. I even dreamed about her last night, cruisin' and riding low. I'll let you know for sure not later than the end of April, with the understanding that you may have already lined up more than you'll have time to do. If so I can just wait till next year.

Thanks Again
