Ontario Chapter Executive - Review and Comments

I've been thinking that maybe we should make an objective review of the positions within the current executive to see if they still make sense for next year.

Currently we have:
President
Vice President
Secretary
Treasurer
Dir. of Vendor Relations
Dir. of Special Events (by special appointment of the pres...)

I was thinking that while a core group of executives makes sense, the titles really do not. It's overkill for a group out size.

Perhaps the chapter executive should look more like this:
Chapter Chair
Chapter Vice Chair
Chapter Steering Committee

The Steering Committe would be comprised of 4 or 5 Directors at Large. The Directors at Large divide amongst themselves the duties and tasks necessary to sustain the chapter. There really isn't enough on-going chapter business to warrant such a lengthy and formal slate of executives. The current team has functioned very well as a group and has shared the workload. I just think we should streamline things a bit and make it more member-friendly.

What do you guys think? Does this proposal make more sense, or do you want to stick with the status quo???

SMOOTH8 Our active members are spread quite a distance in Ont. and with family and work load its hard to get everyone to take on a duty, so smaller and less formal seems logical.

Sounds more than reasonable to me. Why don't you save us all some time and just run for all the positions. Just kidding.
