hey i was just wonderin if anyone knew where to find or could give me some instructions on how to take off the chrome from my 84.... im bout to get the thing painted and i wanted it done right soo i was wonderin how to take off the trim along the bottom...doors everything you can think of if ya got any suggestions please let me know

Welcome back to LOD.

Practice at the junkyard first :)

If your 1984 is anything but an LSC then you have the 4 inch thick lower body chrome. Start with the most forward piece on either side to see how it's attached. There is a screw through the fender and two at the trailing edge inside of the wheel well. Then, grab the bottom edge and pull it away from the body. Once it unhooks, lift up to clear the top of the clip. Once this very first connection is overcome, you'll know how to handle the other five pieces and, oh, 16 or so clips and screws and the like.

If it's an LSC then it slides forward until clear of a clip. Again, start with one of the small, forward pieces.

Take lots of pictures so we can see how you made out and so that others with the same question can see just how easy it is to do.
