Question on a 65 continental door.

G'Day guys,
I just joined the forum for a bit of info on the doors on a 65 continental we have. First a bit of background. This car has been in the family since about 1980, it's a 4 door sedan my brother bought and used for a few years but after he got married the Lincoln was de licenced and put into storage. My nephew (from my other brother) is getting married next Saturday and was going to use it as the main wedding car up until today when disaster struck. It has had a bit of work done on the brakes and fuel system and was looking just the shot, almost to the point of giving her a final shine up when "DISASTER" it jumped out of park while idling and put itself into reverse ran backwards out of the front of the workshop and the open pasengers front door and front guard were badly damaged when the open door hit the leg of our overhead fuel tank hyper extending the door and generaly wrecking that part of the car. Its a shame because there won't be time to repair it before the big day so a less interesting car will have to be used (probibaly a friends Mercedes). Which brings me to the point of why I am seeking information. There are hardly any 60s Lincolns in Australia as they were never sold out here, the ones that are here are private imports, I only know of 3 in our state and they are another 65, a 64 and this one so I will have to try and souce another door and most likely a front guard from the US to repair it but arn't shure whether it is only the 65 model year that will fit or whether other years use the same basic door box assembly and front guard or are there small differences that would make them unsuitable. Will something from the other 60s model years fit and is there anyone who specialises in parts for these cars ? (especialy body pannels)

Thanks for any help you may be able to offer,

Graham
