and was ahead of him by half a car length when we let off at 60 mph. Pretty even. I had my window down and he was definitely shifting at redline.

So for all of you with a 3000 stall converter, beefed tranny (stock gearing), posi, and a chip, your 0-60 is about 5.5 seconds. I've got some other small power mods, but nothing big.

Needless to say he was a little surprised...

That's admirable in my book. The WRXs I have seen are pretty quick little cars.

Hmm 5.5sec 0-60 on a nearly stock Mark VIII is optimistic. I don't doubt that you gave that guy a good run for the money and actually won so don't take this as flaming.

My mark ran a best of 6.7 sec 0-60 with a chip. I don't see how a converter could drop over 1 second... Although I could be wrong.

I have 3.73 gears, track lok, and a chip now and I don't think it will break into the 5s.

I'm not stock. I've got a racing tranny, 3000 stall converter, poly spindle, diff, and tranny bushings, 235 wide tires, and many other items.

I've also got some new engine mods...though I am purposely delaying advertising what they are or what they produce.

Soon...

Just waiting for my mechanic to give it back to me ::uh:: Then I'll either get a dyno run or full-on tune...haven't decided which because I plan on getting a turbo in there. Either way I'll post my mods and dyno charts...no sense in posting one without the other.
