Help!

I have the car up on the jack, and have the old shock out and got out my new Arnott shocks and find there is no mechanism on the top of it to plug in the electrical device.. Is this devise not needed, or are the replacement shocks the wrong ones. The rod on the new shocks is hollow at the top, but when you look down the hole there is not any brass thingy to attach the elecronic device to. What oh what do I do?????????

Looking for help.

RE: Rear Shocks

Put the shocks on and forget about the hook-up. Tape the ends so they Cant short and place them up out of the way. After mid 94, the connectors were eleminated by the factory.

RE: Rear Shocks

The 93-94 1st Generation vehicles had adjustable rear shocks with variable damping. There is an actuator on top of the shock that adjusts it for Firm or Soft, depending on the road speed and brake application. You don't need it.

RE: Rear Shocks

Will regular MN12 shocks fit the first gen Lincoln if I do not plan on using the variale damping system? If the connectors are not used will there be fault codes anywhere?

BILL

Not sure about the fitment question, but you will not get codes if the connectors are not used.

RE: Rear Shocks

It has been reported numerous times that 92-97 T-Bird shocks will work, but you must use the upper mounts for MK8.
Most who have gone this route have given good reports using Monroe Sensa-Trac shocks.
Mine is fairly low miles (88k) and still has the originals. So I am not speaking from first hand experience.
