rear spoiler or wing

I was doodling and thinking about a rear spoiler for the mark viii. I saw one a few years back just a small little lip off the rear kind of like a NASCAR rear spoiler but I was going to ask an opinion I'm going to base the spoiler off the 281 style and wondering if I should follow the contour of the body with the spoiler or have the top lip of the spoiler Straight flat and contour the bottom to go around the body trunk hump, or if I go with a wing style on pedestals it would alleviate the problem because the pedestals would clear the hump. I'm more inclined to stay a way from the wing style and go with the spoiler flush mount style and I think it should be straight across top with the bottom shaped to go over the hump any opinions?
also does anybody know the rear with of the Mustang versus the rearward with of mark viii. the dimensions I found were overall widthsoff the 94 to 98 Mustangs at 71.8 inches versus 99-04 overall width: of 73.1inches and the mark 8 was 74.6 and abut that was overall width: and I'm looking 4 the rear end width or trunk width
