Rear view mirror help. Have pic

The rear view mirror in the mark i just got is missing. There is a black wire with two plugs. I have looked on ebay and noticed some of the mirrors have auto dim built in. Are these wires for the auto dim or something else? Here is a pic.

Hmmm....I had wires on mine, but they plugged into the compass. Mine was a 95.
 
Jerm, you might post what year car you have...lots of times there are BIG differences between the years.
 
Some years have the compass module in the trunk, other are at the mirror. Best to find a year specific mirror assembly if you want full functionality.
 
I ordered an auto mirror and the plug was WAY different. I believe the mirror had 6 pins on it where the plug you show only have 3.
 
Jerm, the wires are for an auto dimming 93-94 style mirror, these had a selector switch on the mirror for off, low and high sensitivity, 95-98 use a single plug and just have an off-on button on the bottom, you need the first one pictured here, the second one pictured is to show the difference for 95-98. i have tons of both style mirrors. i sent you a reply to your pm.
