Sears Tires

I just bought a 71 Mark III with "Sears Tires". The tires are bad and need to be replaced. There is no current size markings, ie. 275-50-15. They say Sears Tires on the side. The only thing that looks like it could be a size reads LR 7 8 - 15. Anyone know how to read these old tire markings?

You have 78-series 15" bias ply tires. Here's a good site you can use to match your old bias ply tires to the "modern" radials:

If you want to upgrade to radials, the 235/75R15 probably will be your best bet.

L stands for 225/75 , therefore your tire size is 225/75/15 ! ! !
