My power is in and out, the rain is on and off, its 6:53pm and I have stabbed my air bag to let the air out. I might be screwed now because one of the bolts in the lower part of the airbag will NOT come out. I called Jamie and he said some tap right out, some you have to beat on. Well I have beat on it and beat on it, right now tis raining and soaking in PB blaster so I cant really work on it. I need the car for school tomorrow, please help!

Yes I am aware as it will melt the bushing. But if the bolt won't come out I would rather buy a new lower control arm than fight with a bolt for four hours. I should have stated that! Have you tried an impact wrench yet? I always use mine and zip it right off.

I have a better solution, and its what I did. Got my trusty $10 Harbor Freight cut off wheel and when to work on the right ear of the thing. Then hit it with a hammer. Worked great I am not weak and I hit this thing as hard as I could many times trying to get it out. I cut off the right side of the old air bag and in probably 5 less-powerful-than-before taps it was out. I would suggest this WAY before I would ever light up a torch. It maybe took 5 minutes once I figured this out.

EDIT: To clarify, getting the nut off was easy, getting the bolt out was the problem.

Thank you very much for the suggestions.

Well that changes things, I thought you couldn't get the nut off. I have had some difficultly getting the bolt out before. I usually just put the nut on a few threads and beat on it as I spin the other end from side to side and it works its way out.

Now I got a new problem I cant get the new (to me) bag on. It says it should be easy to compress it but easy wouldn't be the word I would use. I can press in on the bag so its not inflated, I have tried using a jack to jack it up but it gets stuck between the jack and the strut tower. I am going to try waking up early when there is light, any advice for getting it on between now and then is much appreciated. It almost like my front suspension sint down all the way or something seeing as how this was described as so easy it should be criminal to pay someone. I dont know what they were smoking but I would ahve much rather paid someone $80 to do this.

When we (my son and I) put mine new ones on last spring, we had a tough time compressing them, but with some effort, they DID compress. Ya gotta compress 'em from top to bottom...kinda fold the bag in the middle and we were able to squeeze it into position. I thought the rears were harder than the front.

You need to remove the valve -- or at least release the air pressure. Then it goes in easy.
