Shock tower noise

I have recently purchased a 1996 Continental and it is making a noise from the passenger side rear that is extremely similar to the bad rubber bushing shock tower noise that is somewhat common on a Mark VIII.

I have yet to stick my head back there, but does anyone know if the assembly is similar, and if the fix is similar?

I'd like to say (without bragging) that when I first drove the car, I heard that shock tower in about the first 15 seconds and commented on it. The guy that I bought the car from expressed that he had taken the car to the dealer "a few times" and they were never able to diagnose what the noise was.

So... either it is something way more complex and elusive than what I think it is, or the power of websites like this becomes very clear.
