Some videos from the track

I recently dragged out my old Hi-8 sony cam-corder and bought a device that transfers/converts Hi-8/analog video to WEB/DVD format....so out came the software, videos and time to share.

Here's a couple videos from this passed weekend at the track. Brenda went 5 rounds, and got a semi finalist trophy...she barely broke out, and ended up losing to the event winner...it was one of her best days at the track...Peanut never fluctuated more than between a 11.57 and 11.61 all day...we were very happy.
Some of you may notice a different exhaust sound...yes folks... BULLETS!!!

our 1985 Chevy S-10 pro Street truck..aka.. "Peanut"

Here's a movie of Peanut's conception/build up/first pass.

here's some footage I filmed back in 1999 at the world famous March Meet.
at the time, the first pass was the quickest side-by-side front engine nitro dragster pass in history...Not sure, but it still may be the fastest...and I just happened to capture it on film...go figure.

Here's Brenda driving our old 1970 Hilborn injected 440 dart on alky...this was actually filmed the very day I first met her...when she was driving this pass, I met her about 30 minutes before hand...and i still had the video...cool, huh?

I have more...I'll past some later. I have some video of Tommy's 1970 Enderle injected 472 camaro on alky as well. Go figure...he made his last pass Sunday and ran a 9.75....and yesterday, the motor was out, and ready for tear down.
he's going "tripple nickle"...aka...555 cubic inches.

you mean that primer gray dart? I cant believe I bought it!
it was hacked, and I mean HACKED...they cut the inner fenders out(uni-body car NO NO), had rust on both rear quarters, cracked tail light lenses, frightening suspension out back, an old, tired 383, no doors, no hood...it looked like it belonged in someone's back yard. I bought doors, and a hood, had the engine bay reinforced with some tubing, fixed the suspension, gave it a fresh 10-can spraypaint job, and with the added weight, it went from a 12.80 ET car to a 13.30 ET car...and I had to tow it!!!

it had to go.....

Peanut is a properly-built purpose-built drag vehicle. It has been back-halfed properly using Alston ladder bar assembly, QA1 rear drag shocks, tubbed, and unmolested.

I love the Peanut truck. I always wanted a truck to drag race...I miss the dart for its simplicity...turn key, buckle belts, and race. Peanut requires a bit more attention to detail....but if anything ever "hit the fan" in that Dart, if you know what I mean, it would have been a very bad thing...driving an old tin beer can vs a properly built chassis-equipped drag vehicle is no comparison.

BTW, the Dart got sold to a local guy, who then sold it to some guy back east. It was on Ebay for a while, being portrayed as some "legendary class-raced Nostalgia car" from yesteryear.

what a boob.

Yea i remember that ebay add... lol

I was actually referring to your other cars that you sold right after or before you got the mark if memory serves me right...

Was it the Roadrunner?! Those things in original form commend quite a bit of money nowadays! Plus they look sick!

I can't believe ppl can afford these cars nowadays.. in my mind they are worth 10-20k .. since one can't drive them around on a daily basis but have them only as a toy. But hey what do I know.

we still have the roadrunner...that's a keeper. You just cannot find a 1969 Roadrunner with a 440, a 6-pack set up, in rust-free form, will all new front and rear suspension, a higher stall converter, and 3.50:1 gears in a 8 3/4 rear end.
Most are 4-speeds, or have a dana 60...it could be driven daily...but we wouldnt do that to it.

the other Darts were awesome cars. I too regret ever selling them, but one went back down to her son, who still races it to this day. In fact, this year, he was (again) the Summit ET track champion. He ran at Las vegas at the division finals in the race of champions and everything...he has won 2 Wally's with it-the MOST sought after trophy in all of drag racing...and he's got two of them. Most drag racers race their whole carreer hoping for just a shot to win one of them...and he's got two!

The other 1970 Dart was sold to a guy in Sonoma...he still has it. I miss that car too. But if he wanted to trade that 10 second Dart for our 11 second truck, I'd laugh...no way...we love the Peanut truck...it is so much more fun, and rare.
