speakers in a 93 mark VIII

I was wanting to know if anyone knew the factory size speakers that came in this car? Also, is there a place that anyone knows that show the "proper" way to remove these such as panel removal and whatnot? Thanks in advance:rolleyes:
 
I believe the correct size is 6x8 or 5x7 both will fit.

The back grills pop off if you pry from the bottom.

The door panels have to come off for the front.
 
Thank you.....I was afraid I was going to have to rip the door panel off.......Nothing ever seems to go back together right/ This should make for a interesting night
 
Mine has the JBL system so it has the tweeters are they just the regular 1 1/2"?
Also how much mod do you think it will take to fit in a 6x9? They are a little easier to find.
 
when it comes to the tweeters, its not so simple to just slap in aftermarket. the tweeters are removable from there plastic cases, i think they are 2 inch, but i cant be positive, but you can either modify the cases to accept different tweeters, or make completely new brackets to install new tweeters. i put aftermarket tweeters in the front doors of my blue 93 i had, and made my own brackets, but this is what the stock ones took like. the tweeters are held into the cases with small torque's screws.
