I am out of ideas on how to remove these stains. I tried every single cleaner out there. It seems these are either soda or kool aid stains. No, I didn't do it

HELP ! :big-grin:

More than likely they're permanent at this point. Did you try using a hot water extractor? If that doesn't help nothing will.

Try a little simple green in a spot. I've found that stuff to work wonders in the past. Just test a spot first.

I haven't tried the extractor ... might need to ask a detailer buddy for that.

Simple green is magic. I used it with great success in the past, but it doesn't do zilch on these.

What about spot carpet dye ? I know, last resort, but new carpet is $800

rent a rug doctor with the upholstery atachment, we can rent them here at the grocery store for a 20 dollar bill for 24 hours. go to autozone and get a can of OXY OUT spray the hell out of the spot, let it sit for 10 minutes, then spray again and scrub the spot with a stiff brissle brush, then use the rug doctor and the hottest water you can put your hand under, and it should come out, those rug doctors are kick ass, if i had 600 bucks to blow, i would buy one outright for the house and the cars, i have never had a stain i couldnt get rid of with the rug doctor.

The problem here is that this is a set in stain that has dyed the fibers this color. Simple Green and the like are degreasers and will clean a grease stain but not remove this color. If it did it would also remove the carpet's original dye color. I doubt spot dyeing will work, the results will never match. I even have my doubts the extractor/Rug Doctor route will work but that is you're only shot and worth a try. The extractor is more aggressive than the store rental carpet machines so if it doesn't work it's carpet replacement time.

My g/f's mother bought a rug doctor for about 700. I can say it has more suction than most other units and is built really well. I have used it a lot in the past and it has done an excellent job.

I spoke with some profs today and they'll hot extract the whole carpet, and concentrate on those stained areas. If there's anything left, they'll dye it to match. They use a base gray dye and mix it with some white tint to create a close match, then apply it to those areas. The spots are covered by the mats anyway, so I think it will be ok. I'll post some pics once it's done.

jeremi for what its worth, when i had my 97 with lt graphite interior, i had a large stain in the pass side rar floor that was exactly the same color, bright pink, mine was from a bottle of car soap that someine stepped on and cracked the cap on me, and it leaked onto the rug, i washed and washed it over and over and couldnt get it totally out, but like you said, the mats covered it so i gave up and left it, but i knew it was there and it bothered the hell out of me! good luck with it.

I bought a rug docter have yet do find anything i can't get our with hot enough water. there are dye as mentioned earlier. there is a dye that sonnysdirect.com sells it is a powder that dyes the carpet. but i have never used it
