Still not there...

Went to Pittsburgh Raceway Park today and managed to get 7 runs in. :D

My best came in the 6th run at 14.561 @ 95.14 MPH. Mostly 14.5s and 14.6s with a 14.7 and 14.9? The temps were in the upper 60's to lower 70's while humidity level was 60-70%. We were running into a 10-15MPH wind all day.

My best R/T was 0.012 seconds while the worst was 0.186. }(

60 foot times were quite consistent from 2.123-2.165 seconds with good track conditions. :)

I'm not sure if it was the wind or something else, but somehow I knew there were not going to be any low 14s for me today. I have been betting on a 14.3 something, but it wasn't the day for it I guess. ::wtf::

BTW, that brings my total track runs this season to 89! }( }( }(

RE: Still not there...

Well, still nice times. You'll get there.

89! Wow, I think I've made about 5 runs this year myself. And I've been to the track quite a few times, too. Just haven't raced much.

RE: Still not there...

Get that convertor in there and low low 14s are around the corner.

RE: Still not there...

Well, I may have not gotten a best 1/4 mile ET but the 2.123 sixty-foot and the 1/8 mile ET of 9.368 were new best times. Also some of the 330' and 1000' numbers were best times as well.

I agree Eli, the high stall converter would have me knocking at the 14 second barrier, unfortunately that goal will have to wait 'til next spring as the converter is looking like a winter project.

I'm just running what I've got for now looking for optimum conditions to hit this rookie season's goal of 14.3s. ;)

Sharon, you had some best ETs this season as well. :) Get moving on some of them mods on your Gen2, you've got some catchin' up to do! ;) Now, at the track, if you ran your car more than hanging around the refreshments cooler... :+

RE: Still not there...

I ran a 2.15 60' on crappy, worn out, general xp2000 street tires. Track prep is key.

What tires give you a 2.13 60ft??? thats pretty impressive.

Thanks. Nitto 555R drag radials. I feel I could still learn to launch better, but I have improved consistency since the beginning of the season.

Yeah, track prep at Pittsburgh is pretty good IMHO. One reason I get so few runs there is all the attention given to the track between rounds and when someone looses parts or leaks fluids. They even sweep away the burnout rubber from virtually each car it seems like.
