strange clicking sound

Hey guys,

I noticed a "click-clock" sound (I have no other way to describe it!) within a minute or so of starting the car that sounds like it comes from the relay panel in the trunk. I hear it intermittantly while I'm driving, as well. I have removed the radio amplifier and don't have the cell phone. There is just two devices in there now. I think one is the compass module. Does anyone know what the other module is? What could the "click-clock" sound be?

The clock is DIGITAL so don't start with me!... :7

Thanks in advance!

Jon

RE: strange clicking sound

that's a normal sound. It could be the air ride solenoids. There is also one other thing that happens, i'm not sure what. But there's something that tests itself at about 15 mph the first time you move after starting the car. i want to say it's something in the brakes but i don't really remember. i heard about it around here awhile ago.

RE: strange clicking sound

The ABS has a self test sequence, but that's up front and easy to distinquish. The clicking noise is probably a relay. The keyless entry module is in the rear and has relays I believe. Also, the '93 model has the variable rear shocks which I think are relay controlled.

RE: strange clicking sound

Yeah, I've heard the suspension relays clicking on and off. Once I was working on something in the trunk, and as I shook the car up and down the relay would click on and off. This sound is louder than that and I have a feeling that it is related to the unknown module on the relay panel. I'll have to crawl in there and get the part number off of it and look it up.

RE: strange clicking sound

I believe the other module there is the shock damping module. You also have two relays outside that module - the soft ride relay and the hard ride relay. Of course you also have the rear shock actuators at each rear shock.
