Subwoofer in trunk

I have a subwoofer that I want to wedge in the trunk of a 1995 Mark 8. How can I hook another amplifer into the JBL system to drive the new subwoofer. Also will the new sub in the trunk cause the CD changer to skip since it is also in the trunk. This is just a single ten inch speaker not anything that will shake the pavement. And will the magnet on the speaker cause problems for the compass?
Thanks for any sugesstions.
:) Matt

RE: Subwoofer in trunk

If you want to keep the stock system, and just add a subwoofer. You will need to splice into the speaker wires for a feed (audio feed that is) for the new amp. I have had 2 10s in the trunk, and I have had no problem with the magnets and the thumping never caused the cd player to skip.

I just had a single 12" installed and noticed no problems with the compass. Can't say about the changer, but I doubt it would be a problem. With mine it can get loud enough to vibrate the mirrors and feel the music.

Yeah!!!! that's what I'm talkin about!!

Which wires do I need to splice into? Can I get to them from the trunk (what color are they) or should I just go right to the speakers?
