Taking parts into my own hands

Has anyone ever tried to find new cup holder arms for their 2nd gen mark? All that I was ever able to locate was on ebay at an outrageous price...I think around 100 bucks. When one broke one my blue mark I took it upon myself to make a sweet pair out of aluminum, which was not easy. Lately though I have been experimenting with Really Really flexible mold resins where I can then pour in a newer much stronger plastic resin. So far It has been painstaking but possible, with three successful prototypes and the real deal on the way...

Also I was wandering if any LOD members have that little rear view mirror problem going on where it has discolored and turned fogy? This happened to my fathers gen2 and I was able to cut out quit a few at work on a CNC machine. Seems that the passenger side mirror is "ovaled" or not flat, making it possible but not likely you would want to do this on. The drivers side however is flat in which you can cover it easily with a high quality lexan mirror as an easy fix that you can actually see out of.;) I made it fit just inside the black plastic housing on the original and its only 1/16 thick.

Anyway...I can send any LOD member one if they would like and only ask for shipping. In addition I can make them for a gen1 mark but I dont have a donor mirror yet....

Well, at least when I bought my car, you could not get the cup holder arms separate, they only came as part of that entire console.
