I've been using one of these for a few years now and I can tell you one thing from the experience... I can wash and rinse the car off using this filter and let it dry in the sun without a single water spot! I figured it's about time we added this to our line. It's Made in the USA of course and available immediately.

This reasonably priced garden-hose filter uses standard-sized filter cartridges and connects to standard 3/4" garden hose fittings. The filter comes with everything needed including one filter cartridge, hose adapters, a mounting bracket for mounting the filter on a wall or the side of a garden cart. Also included is a filter wrench to assist in cartridge change.. The clear case is handy with sediment cartridges especially, because it lets you see when the cartridge needs replacement without opening the vessel.

I replace my filter once a summer so it's quite a good value. Users with very hard water may need to replace or recharge the cartridge more often.

Thank god my car is silver :) Very good idea for those people with dark cars! It also looks like you can do some sewing with the twine inside there, hehe.
 
That is a great product. We have pretty have very mineral loaded water out here. I may consider this. What is the expected life of the filters?

About 90 gallons BUT... they can be "recharged." I'll be putting up a web page in the next few days describing the process but in a nutshell... you keep a spare soaking in water softener salts (less than $10 for 50 pounds at Home Depot.) Every few washings you swap filters so you always have a fresh filter. Those two filters should last a few years this way.

I think you need a sediment filter for that. These filters are for garden hose use, if you're looking for a whole house filter that's a different animal alltogether.
 
I have city water in the house so that's no problem.

I also have a well = free water for garden use.

What filter is included with this setup ? I know there are 4 different replacements available.

The included filter (and the replacements) is the resin water softener filter. For the rusty well water you may want the 5 micron fine sediment filter.

Now if you really want to go all out I'd say you want a double filter system with both the sediment and softening cartridges. Email me for pricing info.
