Thermoquad?

In 1974 Ford and its sister companies utilized a Carter Thermoquad series 6568S on their 460 ci engines. 74 is the only year to my knowledge that this was done. Which brings me to the question, does anybody out there have a rebuildable unit for sale. I've rounded up a manifold but I'm still in need of the carb and all the chock related items. The ford tag on the top of the carb should say D4AE BC on the top line and A 3 H 06 on the bottom line. Any help in rounding up one of these units is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

RE: Thermoquad?

Type 6568S into ebay and tell it to search in titles and descriptions. If the auction has ended you can still get to it but searching completed items.

Its only $20.

Hey Kyle
Thank you for the heads up, but I've had my eye on one all frickin week. Auction just ended an hour and a half ago and dude I got the lil bugger! One of the rarest carbs to have ever been used by ford. $36.00, not to bad huh? The unit is about 95% complete and the stuff that's missing I've got here on one thats toast. Couldn't be more tickled about it. I think it's probably the same unit you were talking about ($19.95). Anyway, thanks for keeping an eye out for me, definatly appreciated!

PS; You've got exactly the type of Mark VIII that I'm hoping to own some day. I love the Ivory interior and have since the first time that I had a car with it (69 SHELBY GT350). You'll find that in the middle of the night the white interior will help to illuminate the interior simply from the light coming from the instrument cluster and dash lights. Sounds like a beautiful car!

RE: Thermoquad?

Ill sell you mine for $11-12K (depends what I have in it when all is said and done) but I'd want to finish it up first so that you can have av very fast car in near perfect shape. 39K on it and a blower. Mabye forged pistons and rods soon I am not sure yet.

RE: Thermoquad?

Hi Kyle

With that kind of mileage and the considerable improvements, you could probably get that for it. Way, WAY out a my price range though. Got to many vehicles as is right now (4 in all) and will probably end up with another mark viii (96) a friend is letting go for dirt cheep soon. I'll buy the thing, put a cover on it until I can figure out what to do with it for the price that he's asking. But someday, I'm gonna come across one with Ivory Interior, and I know it'll be to hard to resist. Good luck with yours, sounds like a heck of a car.

Al

PS; You ought to see this Thermoquad, just got it the other day and it's like a new unit.
