Trans Shudder

Ok, another dumb question...

So there is a drain plug for the TC yes?

How is the TC refilled?

A pump from the pan....no sweat. Just fill thru the filler tube..... A bolt comes out of the TC....gotta rotate the engine until it shows up at the bottom. I rotated mine by hand using a BFW.
 
Just curious but if you wanted the filter changed at the same time...you would just say "Transmission Flush (using the BG machine) AND a filter change" wouldn't you? :D

Doing it the right way, they would flush the system and then change the filter and gasket.

I don't think my local lube place will touch the trans pan...

I guess they know they can only be trusted so far... :D

Joe if you can wait until I have a free weekend, take a drive up my way with mercon V, some beer and steak for the grill and we will do it in my garage then cook out after. =)

Hey does anyone have a preference for transmission filter?

Autozone has there whatever brand for $16, is there something better, or will that do?

Friends don't let friends buy "whatever" brand filters. :D

Motorcraft (#F6AZ7A098A according to Rock Auto) is your best bet for a transmission filter. You don't change it enough to justify getting a cheap filter.

I'm very proud of my PowerTrax that I haven't seen yet, hope to god fits, and cost a lot more then I wanted to spend on a rear dif.

It may be the last new one ever...

No one could agree on if it existed, if it did, would it fit, did they even make them any more...

Turns out they had "1" on the shelf at the manufacturer, so I snapped it up since they may not make more.
