Has anyone any experience with Muscle Products "MT-10" Metal Treatment(Extreme Pressure/Anti-Wear Lubricant Additive)?

http://www.mpc-home.com/mt10.html

Here at work, we have started experimenting with synthetic fluid and additives. We started running MT-10 in certain gearcases and transmissions and documented a significant drop in operating temperatures. The sales rep assures us of compatiblity with all transmission fluids and gear oils. IMO, a lot of transmission problems with the Mark VIII can be attributed to high temperatures and subsequent fluid breakdown and could benefit from such an additive.

From their website:

When used in the transmission (automatic or standard), MT-10 reduces operating temperatures significantly, by an average of 30 degrees F; reduces metal particle fallout due to wear; and keeps valves free and operating without upsetting the necessary coefficients of friction within the clutch plates and bands. This is supported by testing done at Raymark/Raybestos Laboratories, Crawfordsville, Indiana.

Now, I'm not a snake-oil user, but I've seen this stuff work(under extreme conditions) and wonder what other experience could be drawn upon here.

RE: Transmission Fluid Additive

I would just stick with a synthetic fluid like amsoil, use a trans cooler, and forgo any additives.

I agree with that statement. I change my fluid roughly every 20K and have no significant material build up on my magnet in my pan. In fact the last two changes both mechanics were impressed by the lack of wear, as was I. I'd just stick Mercon V a cooler and keep the fluid changed on a regular schedule. Works for me
