Would a transmission from a 99 v-6 mustang work in the mark? Is there any differences between a v-6 and v-8 4r70w? Advantages? Disadvantages?

Google Search

"The AOD was redesigned with electronic controls in 1991, becoming the AODE. It was mainly intended for the new Modular V8 at first, but it was also adapted to the old AOD bell-housing for vehicles still powered by OHV engines. While the AOD and AODE/4R70W share some basic components like oil pans, gear sets (AODs and AODE can be retrofit with 4R70W gear sets), most of the internals are not interchangeable. The transmissions are not interchangeable either, as the AOD only uses a throttle valve cable for operation. The AODE and 4R70W are controlled by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) also sometimes referred to as the Electronic Engine Control (EEC)."

Edit: I dont think that helps.

Well after some searching I found out that the 4.6/5.4 and the 3.8/4.2/5.0 have different bellhousing pattern. Dang on shame, I knew somebody with a 3.8 mustang sitting and was going to let me have the trans. for nothing.

i got a 98 and two 97 mark trannies come get one for 50 bucks take your pick lol! all 3 are perfect trannies bolt right in and fill with new fluid.

The only difference I would really know between a v6 and v8 if it was the same tranny would be the amount of frictions used.

For that price, you could drive down and back and be ahead of getting one locally! And with Jamie's you'll KNOW it's good! PS...get the '98!
