Tuneup & Headlight problem

Bought a 93 for 400 months ago, now its on the road; what I've done.

New plugs
New Universal, Alternator & Battery
4 new wheels and tires
Front and rear pads and rotors
Rear swaybar
Front control arms

Now its on the road, running great besides one problem

When I first start it after sitting overnight its really rough for about 30 seconds.

I'm using 93 octane and I'm only getting 11.5 mpg.

The car sat for 2 years before I bought it, a bodyshops lost project, and I know its due for a tuneup. I'm 19 and this is my first car, I've really learned a lot because of all of the problems I've chased.

What do I replace with the tuneup for some better mpg/performance.

Beyond that, I've been problems with my headlights (no surprise there) But it seems that after about 30-40 minutes of the car being on at night the headlights go off and come back on randomly. The battery is reading 13-14 volts while running. Sorry for the long (its my first) post, thanks.

im not to sure maybe u can run a lower octane fuel i used to only run 89 and a few week's ago i filled up with 91 and now it kind of putter's when i start it up

How are the spark plug wires?

If they are old I'd replace them just to be sure.

Sounds to me like you need to use a can or two of "Seafoam" to clean up the intake, valves, and all. Might look at plug wires. Should run good on 87 octane, and better on 92.

Yeah I used seafoam on a 92 buick century and that made a huge help, ill try it out, the plug wires are ok, they're a little burnt, any reccomendations?
Also, my battery cable connections are all corroded, has anyone ever replaced these? the pos. cable always falls off because i cant get it tighter. beyond that any ideas? thanks

U really need to get those cables replaced as they will play hell and possibly cost you an alternator, plus a whole bunch of other issues of components not functioning properly. Go to your local Advance Auto or whatever and get replacemnts. We also have good FOMOCO vendors here who give us good rates as well for their wares.. Plug wires in my opinion should be the FOMOCO racing wire, I'm sure others will expound their choice.
