Water on floor

Bubby

I'm back again! Noticed this problem 3 years ago when i bought the car but slipped my mind til yesterday when i reached back there to get something. The first time i noticed it i was walking up to the car and noticed a drip coming out of the plug in the floor on the back passenger side. I removed the plug and pressed firmly with my hand on the capet; water came out of the plug hole. The padding was like a wet sponge! Anyway i wondered what could cause this since back then i didn't really take it out when it rained and didn;t know if it could be a plugged drain from the a/c unit. I do drive it daily now (until i get another honda beater!) and we just had a lot of rain. Wondered then if it could be the moon roof drain tubes. If so how can i check the a/c drain and the moon roof drain tubes. Lastly, where is the cabin filter located. Sorry i just wrote a freakin' novel!

Besides the moonroof drains, the Gen2s had issues with the cowl not being sealed well.

It could also be a windshield leak.

Check the front passenger side for wetness.

The moonroof drains are in the rear sides of the moonroof cavity. Use a rubber tipped air hose blowgun to clear them. They exit at the front of the rear wheelwells through a hole in the lower rocker panel. If the drains are plugged, usually the headliner will get wet first.

If its the back seating area thats wet, not the front, there is also a REALLY good chance the door seal is bad. If you can not locate the leak for sure, try adjusting the door a little. I found this problem with mine after taking out the entire interior tying to locate the leak.
