First I was going to Dynamat the transmission tunnel but I called my friend up and he said dont be a pussy rip the interior out.
So I did.
I used spray foam to fill in some of the door jam.

I only used 20 sq feet. As you can see I did not get the rear done. I will one day.

Wow

Wow

You must be a serious audio head. That car s brand new. lol. Isnt it quiet enough from the factory? I mean after all, it is a Caddilac seeing the steering wheel. This was all for the sound for the stereo? Wow. That thing is going to be like a tomb inside now when its back together. Nice.

HAHA. That a good one. This Cadillac is not quiet.
Transmission whine, Center drive shaft bearing whine and the rear pumpkin whine like a girl.
This was to kill all the drive line noise and it did.

Wow... Interesting, so they whine like the vettes, seems strange given that those cars have an extra 600lbs of "stuff" and yet they didn't get rid of the noise?

How bad does your vettes whine?

My car whine in 2nd gear going 20mph, turning the rear pumpkin makes clanking noise and the Center drive shaft bearing whine on the freeway.
But I think most of my problem came after installing poly transmission mount. The mount transfers a ton of vibration noise through the crossmember but the car drive much better.

Stock mount on the left.

Well, the vette has a ton of noises...

--80mph+ Wind-noise through the weatherstripping, thanks to the frameless windows.
--Sounds like a sewing machine at idle
--Most of the other noises are at 0-10mph and pending how I have the clutch, I think those bearings make noise from the factory, Mine sounded the same since I bought the car with 19k miles on it.
--I have very little if any gear whine etc, then again I have borlas so the car isn't exactly "whisper" quiet.

I forgot my Katech short shifter wise in 2nd gear but the car shift much better with it.
I went with the Corsa exhaust that is quiet. My next plans are long tube header with high flow cats.

I have a Hurst short throw shifter, I get quite a few vibrations through the shifter in 4th as I am accelerating on the freeway above 4000rpms.

I swear every single mod has some kind of nasty downside. I'm keeping my next ride as close to stock as possible.

Wow, I would of thought that with the kind of money those things cost, it would be like a Lexus or BMW.

Makes us appreciate our Marks that much more now. Mine is modded to the T and its still relatively smooth and quiet on the highway. If you can ignore the 3000RPMS hum from the big gears and the Procharger. Other than that, all my "stuffing" has been removed long ago. I only reinstalled heat sticky mat under the floorboards to combat the exhaust heat. Nothing else. That mount looks pretty serious holding power compared to the stocker. It looks like it wouldnt flex any.
