How can I tell what cd changers will work with my 1996 Mark VIII. ebay has one with the numbers, F2VF-18C830-AB. Does this mean anything to anybody? Thanks for the help....

it does to me!!! it means thats for 93 and 94 only. you need one out of a 95-98 mark VIII. any changer on ebay from a 95 to 98 mark will work for you, 93 and 94 wont even come close.

Or you could install an aftermarket one for 150 bucks and an hour of your own labor.

my 93 has an aftermarket pioneer 6 disc in the trunk and is fm modulated and sounds awesome, i have heard some that suck, i suggest aftermarket also, unless you dont mind going through 4 a year if you go factory, they are getting old now and all they do is crap out.

CD are dinosaurs, for the money and the trubble just get yourself an MP3/Ipod player and hook it up.

What type of aftermarket changer?

What type of aftermarket changer?

What should I look for in an after market cd changer? Any brands that will plug into the existing wiring in the trunk. I would like to keep the 10 disc in the trunk and I don't want to change the dash unit. Thank you for any ideas...

there are none that plug into the stock changer harness that i am aware of, but you can have one installed that is fm modulated and be done with it, and keep the stock stereo. i prefer kenwood and pioneer but thats just me.

well i beg to differ on modulated changers suck, in the past i would agree with you, but the one in my 93 sounds better then the stock one that used to be in my 98.

My Sony Xplode sounds awesome.....better than my tape deck adapter iPod, lol. Seriously though....I bought my 10 disk off eBay for 150 bucks.
