So, I'm really hoping I'll get the OK to go tomorrow, but with only a week left, I know I'm not going to be in any shape to walk the entire fairground. Of course I expect my boys to be getting my drinks/food, etc. for me most of the time, but I don't want to be stuck at the tent all day every day for the whole show.

So the question is: Rent a wheelchair for a day or a Scooter? I was thinking I'd rent on Saturday (but maybe even Friday) just so I can see a lot at least one of the days. The scooter is much more expensive, but the wheelchair will require someone to push my fat ass around.

Feel free to post your comments, and remember, I can look and see who voted for what if I really want to. :fart

Steve, you're mean.

JP, tell Mrs. Driller she's on! I get to pick my pit crew though. ;)

Scooter for sure, my grandparents have had Amigos for as long as I can remember (polio). I wish my grandma would let me try to soup hers up. They're fun, just be careful turning, them suckers tip easy.

ROFL at Mike! That's an awesome idea actually!

Jeff, a 2 wheel scooter? Actually everyone please remember there WILL be alcohol involved. I'm even more worried than I was before. ;)

lol That would be a fun ride :)

Scooter for sure! Keep in mind that if, God forbid, we are still up on Mt. Everest there you could find yourself at the bottom waiting a VERY long time to find a Sherpa willing to push you up!

"we are still up on Mt. Everest" ... lol One more good reason to ride in the shopping cart! :) Really need pics of that... :)

You guys are too funny! OK, I've been given the go-ahead to go (barring any unforseen problems due to the damn cold the kid gave me). I'm going to reserve a scooter for Saturday, and I assume I can just play it by ear on Friday. Oh please let us be off that damn mountain!

Mike, take a look at hubby in the cart -- that doesn't exactly look like a position I'd be comfortable in for long periods of time, although we could have some real fun racing.

And Glenn, while that may be cool, you apparently don't realize that I would never get a chance to actually sit - I'd be constantly getting up so people could get a drink. Now if it was set up as a side car kinda thing....

Another vote for the scooter.

I'm glad you got the OK from the doctor Sharon. If you didn't, I would have suggested getting a second opinion.:D

I actually like it up on the hill. From there, you can get a great view of all the cars.

Having used both, I would say scooter for a car show, air show, ect. For everyday use, I preferred my wheelchair, but it is a custom fit lightwieght rigid chair made just for me. Now I use crutches just about all the time, but found the scooter to work very well on my last trip to the Sun n Fun fly-in at Lakeland. I was able to go where ever I wanted, both on the tarmac and the grass field with no problem.
