wiring 2nd gen mirrors to 1st gen

i know its been done, i have seen it done before, but i dont know if what i saw was just the gen 2 mirror bolted to the gen 1 mark, and not wired up? my buddy has a 93 and bought two 2nd gen mirrors and wants me to install them. does anyone have the wiring diagrams for both 93 mirror harness and 97-98 mirror harness? i want them to work as it factory, autodim, the puddle lamps and directional led's, the puddle lamp wont be hard to figure out, but i need to wire them so everything works. if anyone can help me out i would really appreciate it. thanks.

lol wow dude i cant follow that, does anyone have simpler diagrams, like what wires from the gen 2 mirror go to the matching or correct wores on the 93 harness. i seriously cant follow that jesse i'm that kind of diagram illiterate.

Come on Jamie....take one diagram at a time....the mirrors are labels..disregard all the "other" crap, then compare between the Gen I and Gen II. It really isn't THAT hard. Don't let a picture scare you. You'll get better pictures if you go to the top of the ELECTRICAL thread to the sticky that shows you how to get to the Bedford library website to get maintenence and electrical manuals.

i just looked over jesse's pic's and like i said i cant make heads or tails out of that, there is too much to look at, i dont know what all of it means, i need wire diagrams for dummies, like the gen 1 plug and gen 2 plug and what wires go to each other. i seriously cant read a drawing like above i know nothing about wiring inside a car and relays and all that confusing crap. i went to the library and searched mark VIII wire diagrams but there is nothing for mirrors that i could find. maybe im not looking right who knows.

Its all right there man! I can't give you the plug wiring because it just shows the colors like the pic above.

98 Left Mirror The big white box is resembles the mirror. Inside the white box you have "left" "right" "up" "down" "turn signals" etc...

Right next to the black lines going up/down indicate the color of the wire R=Red Y/R=Yellow w/Red Stripe Y/LB=Yellow w/Light Blue Stripe etc....

98 Right Mirror

93 Mirror......notice gray box on right, this resembles the mirror.
