Is there any interest in a Minnesota meet?

I'm trying to gauge interest. I know there's a handful of members in the immediate area, and quite a few more within a few hours drive.

Would anyone be interested in any sort of meet-up? I have a house in North St. Paul Minnesota with plenty of space for parking, socializing, bonfires, and camping. (indoor or out.)

I have also given thought to some sort of a "cruise." maybe up to Lake Superior and back. 2-4 hours each way, depending on how that would be arranged. Up and back in a day is possible, but the North Shore is one of my favorite places in the world, so staying a night up there somewhere is good too.

Anyway, please post thoughts interests, ideas..

Thanks!
Mike

Bud: I don't think so. the only military installations I'm aware of in Minnesota are Camp Ripley up near Brainerd (National Guard.) and the Air Force Reserve which resides on the grounds of the Minneapolis International Airport (MSP)

Beerdog: BFE is a few hundred miles to the west. I'm effectively a second-tier suburb of Minneapolis/St. Paul. I just happen to have a double-lot. :D

heh. I forgive you. On my many road trips, one of the more memorable sights was watching the B1's taking off as I drove by Ellsworth in South Dakota. What a genuinely impressive aircraft.

I was thinking that that would be a great summer RV trip. Gotta run it past the Mrs......

wow. I never would have imagined. My garage only has 50A service from the house, but I'm sure I can come up with something. :D sewer hookup could be a problem though...

I have a LARGE tank..... but I was thinking of the trip up to the BIG lake! I have 30AMP service. And I have a 115 adapter. Just won't be able to ran Air Conditioner..... no big deal.

And there MUST be campgrounds in the area.

lol. I wanted people to have a point of reference. I figured the lakes were a safe bet.

Bud: Superior is awesome, and you have state parks every sixty feet or so all up and down the north shore.

A couple more state parks are within 15-20 min of my house. Afton and William O'Brien.
My driveway and my home are open to anyone, anytime.

Here's a potential route for Joe, although if I were doing it I would go through Canada instead.

The only thing I like about driving through Canada is that you can see the fines for speeding and decide how much you'd be willing to pay, and then set your speed accordingly... :D

Any ideas when we would do this? Later would be better for me, as my car's going to be out of commission for several months. Not that that would stop me from coming in the Zero. But no Carlisle for sure this year.

I have no ideas on dates yet. I figured I would attempt to gauge interest first.

I'm quite comfortable with "later." I would imagine that people's summer schedules are filling up already anyway. August, September, October timeframe? In October, there's a chance we could time a cruise for optimal fall colors.

Does anyone else have a date preference? or thoughts on the sort of event they would like this to be?

One option might be to plan this to span the June 22-24 weekend, which is when the "Back to the 50's" car show is held at the state fairgrounds. It is a massive event. just being on the highways that weekend makes for some good car-watching.

I'm sure there is space for you in the Z... :D

and you can fit a bottle of champagne in the cup holder... added bonus I know... :D

I have to admit that a trip of that distance is much more appealing when I can relax and be a passenger at least part of the time.
