It is cool but not all that exciting. I probably would have picked a different engine for an old stang.

It needs a CE shift knob, and one of Jay's crossover plugs. :D

Other than that, pretty cool.. I want to see how it "goes" It should be pretty light.

Sadly, stance and the 'little details' kill this car. Overall concept is quite nice, but complete execution falls short.

I have to agree.
I would expect a little more for the price it fetched.
Terminator swap..... or at least a cobra intake forged bottom and some kind of boost.

I like it, a stock gen 1 Mark VIII engine in a Mustang. You don't see that often.

I think a slightly modified gen 1 engine cover would be a nice touch to add too. :)

We met a guy at Carlisle that put a gen 2 Mark VIII engine and a gen 1 instrument cluster in a 1956 Victoria. :D

I really appreciate the work involved in these resto-mods.

Bill, nice pick. I had one of those 56 Vicks back in the mid 60's. It had a 312 with a 4 Bl, 3 speed stick, and 3:91 gears all stock. The original owner bought it that way to tow his boat down to the Connecticut River and back home to Manchester once a year. That was a great car, I then sold it to buy my 1st new car (1966 Olds 442).
The Mustang project looks like it entailed quite a bit of rework on the front suspension and shock tower removal. I would have thought a 429 would have been more appropriate. Just my $.02.

There are a few MKVIII swaps out there that are well done and LOOK like it could have been. With respects to their builders/owners, the above shown swaps are 3/4 swaps...........so close but the little things kill it overall.

"Tough crowd" :)

It's different. I too would like to see it 'go fast' preferably at Atco Raceway or some other track.

I have a 68 coupe and believe my Mark's 4.6L would be the ideal engine for my Mustang if it fit better. My Mustang's 351w would be neat in a MarkVIII as well.
