Air ride compressor stops after about a second

Then I get the hard fault and the check air ride message.

Anyone ever seen this before?

I'll start by looking at the relay and compressor first, then maybe the wires going to them. This car has had some problems with wires before.:)

All fixed.:D

I didn't do anything except try it today. The compressor ran fine. I'm thinking it was frozen because it was in the teens when I had the problem, and it's in the 40's today.

I'll keep an eye on it.

You might check to see if the air drier is water logged. Ice crystals could create a blockage which would create a high pressure condition that the air compressor could not move against.

The system stopped working this week, I had a hard fault, the error message appeared after just a few seconds, and nothing worked.

Luckily the airsprings are good, It stayed pumped up for the last few days, driving to work. I finally got a chance to look at it today.

It turns out I was right with my first guess, it was a wiring problem.

My fault actually. I temporarily replaced the compressor relay trigger wire with a piece of cheap wire a few years ago.

I always meant to rewire it with good wire, I did that today.:D

had to fix it this weekend, i had forgotten about it.
my star tester reminded me when it pulled a code.
