Clay bar--not

Clay bar seems to take time and labor. Found this product from Eagle 1, and it does what clay does, but super easy, and quick. You just spray some detailer (lube) and wipe it like you were washing a car by hand. My CE that was waxed 6 weeks ago was full of little bumps, and needed clay. After the mitt, and wax, it's as smooth as glass. When done you just rinse the mitt with water to use it next time. Got mine at Advance Auto, $25. Says good for 7-10 times. Eagle 1 has video on line. Go and rub your car, and see if it's full of little bumps. Best product I've bought in a long time.Surface mitt back side.jpgsurface mitt (clay).jpg

That's a cool idea.

Eagle One has been one of my "go to" waxes for years.. i've tried many of the newer ones, but often go back to the Eagle One anyway. I think they're underrated.

Although I also think there's something "therapeutic" about the process of clay-baring. I just rarely have time for that kind of therapy... :D

Do they say it's meant to replace clay? What concerns me is that when using clay one turns it in on itself to always use a clean surface free of debris which the clay pulled from the paint. This "mitt" might hold particles that then can scratch the surface. And what happens if you drop it? Have you tried it using car wash as the lubricant since detail spray can hide a lot of ills?

98 hump shiney.jpgThey recommend using a detailer for lube. Unlike clay, if you drop it just rinse it off. When done, rinse and dry. They say good for 7-10 times. I did my PU, and my CE. I thought the CE was show ready, and it is now. Big difference, quick and easy, about 20-30 min for this old guy. Two thumbs up from me.

They both look great.

I just love that truck. I'd say I don't know why, but I do. It's optioned just right, and a nice color.

I've always been a FORD guy, but couldn't pass on the deal I got for this truck. 12 years old, 23K miles. 6.0 gas hog, 4X4 with 4.10's.

WD40 is good for allot of stuff stuck to the paint. Those are usually asphalt debris which is disaolvable fith petroleum based products like gas or WD40.

I'm going to have to try this mitt on the CE.

As for sticky foreign debris behind the wheels, I have found Rain-X does a pretty good job.

My paints not the best but overall I'm happy, car looks shiny, smooth, and clean. Added bonus that the detail spray made it smell like apples. I do have 2 complaints though which are mainly my fault, left a few streaks that i had to redo and it couldn't help the area right behind the tires on the bumper and right below the door. WD40 didn't help me here either

This is the stuff i'm talking about.
I'm considering doing a legit claybar on the car tonight...definitely not to just play with the clay
