Dots in paint

Came back from Carlisle, and hit some rain. Today I washed the car, and found brown dots only on the roof, and trunk lid. Buffed them for 2 hours, and still there. It's like they went through the clear, and didn't leave a mark. On an angle paint looks like glass, but straight on you can see the dots. Pretty rough rain. Never seen anything like this

Sometimes vinegar works at removing water spots that have etched the paint (particularly if they're mineral deposits). If that doesn't work then you'll have to use a compound with an aggressive pad. Only problem with that is you have to be careful not to burn through the clear coat.

Obviously start with the least aggressive and work up until you achieve your desired results. Typically it goes foam pad, then microfiber pad, then wool as far as least to most aggressive.

I used Turttle polishing compound with an orange pad a few times, then Meguires ultimate compound with a blue pad, then meguires cleaner/wax with a black pad, and Meguires carnauba gold class. It shines like it did, but the dots are still there. I'll try the vinegar, of course red wine so it's color matched. ha ha. I have show tomorrow afternoon so I have some time to play. Acid rain sounds right. It seemed to go through the clear and not leave a mark on the surface. Usually crap gets on the car, it leaves a mark, you buff it out, and it fixed. I'll test on the roof in case I mess up, nobody looking down at it. Thanks for the ideas.

Could it be the beginnings of the clear coat delaminating?
Clear coat in great shape. Marks only on roof, and trunk lid. Hood, fenders, mirrors, etc all not affected. 10 miles from home got stuck in traffic jam, and car dryed out most likely letting the crap sink in. I'll fix it or make it look real good. Next year I want to bring the opal white 94, and now I'm frightened a bit. Ahh it's only a car.

I'm on a roll. Last night dots. This morning NO DOTS. Whatever I did worked, just have to do the roof, still has dots. Did'nt have a plan, but it's coming together. I better get to the casino before this streak of luck runs out

Buffed it last night, and dots remained. (trunk). This morning they were gone. Still a few were on the roof, so I did the whole car. I have no idea what it was, but glad the dots are gone. The only vinegar I used was on my salad ha ha. I was going to try it, but didn't have to.
