Driving without turndowns

How long would i be able to drive without turndowns on the exhaust. Cut off mid car so i could work on the gas tank

If you're careful, you can get at much of the tank without removing the exhaust. Just remove it from all of the brackets, and "let it hang"

I'm not sure the tank could be removed this way, but it certainly makes it accessible. It's how I replaced my fuel pump. (presumably how you did, also..)

i drove my car with open headers for a little while, and my neighbor is a cop so..

my 98 had no mufflers when I bought it...it was obnoxious at start up but at idle it wasn't much louder than when I put the magnaflows on it.
loud?...hardly....obnoxious and "burbbly"....very much so

Drove with turndowns, still got very sleepy and sick. No tickets, if i did get pulled over theyd have more than just the exhaust to fine me for.

Got it welded back on, surprisingly an xpipe and 2 glasspacks are really quiet
