Fuel injector trouble?

My 98 has been starting very rough to the point I have to keep revving it up until it clears out and runs fine.

I'm thinking it's an injector or 2 that's leaking/plugged and flooding out the cylinders until it warms up. Anyone ever have this problem before?

Yes, it could be a pressure problem. I went to check the pressure yesterday but I seem to have lost the adapter for my gage. I primed it 3 times before starting it and it seemed to start fine yesterday. I might try changing the filter first, it's long overdue anyway.

You could stick a little pen on it to see if there's pressure. Then again it would just lead to the question of where the pressure is being lost

They're not a common problem, forgot to mention I lifted the rails with them attached and primed it to see if any leaked, You should also notice the smell of gas if there was a leak.

I had an issue like that once. It turned out it was a coil pack that was arcing when under the hood was cold and had moisture in surfaces and in the air. Once the car warmed up and dried out a bit it didn't arc anymore and ran smooth. In rain it was even worse!

I thought it might be a coil, but the way it was running so bad for about 5 times in a row, you would think it would show a CE light.

This car did have a bad injector once, I swapped it out with a spare, it's been fine since then. That time it wasn't intermittent, it missed all the time.

Depending on how bad the leak is it could only throw excess into after the cars off. Is there any difference between warm and cold starts?

Good point. When it was doing it, it would happen when it was cold or warm, just at start up. I'll drive it again tomorrow (I've been driving my black car as the salt is gone).

I tested the fuel pressure, it's good.

I pulled the coils and most of the boots had moisture on them. I cleaned them up and put them back in. It seems to run fine again, looks like that was the problem all along.

Thanks for the suggestions.
