I just got a new (to me) Mark VIII 1998 LSC Collectors Edition.
It had 94k on it when I got it and just turned 100k today
It does have a salvaged title but I am not seeing where and have not searched online with vin yet..
But here is my Situation
When I am stopped at a light or drive thru the tranny seems to burb like, I put it in park and it stops.
then back in any gear and the burbs starts again
it is kinda like a gear jumping or hicup,
Thinking of the mercon 5 thing to try, but would love some insight from the clan here

forgot to mention it runs great when moving
and i know this may be hard to believe but the other night i was getting 28mpg using my foot and level freeway

You could R&R the transmission fluid with Mercon V and cross your fingers.

Some people have had good results with Lucas Transmission Fix additive if you want to try that first.

However, no fluid or additive can fix a mechanical problem.

Whats a burb? My engine sometimes revs a little when cold and stopped at a light, if I take it out of gear it stops that.

Once a dealer changed my trans filter and fluid, and they added "conditioner", that turned out to be Friction modifier. $30 at the dealer, and $12-15 on line. Stinkest stuff I've ever smelled. Try some , and if the burp goes away change the filter and fluid. I have a mole problem, and this year they are going to get some. muli-tasker
Lots of miles, change the fluid anyhow.
