Kenwood no sound jbl amp

I've been trying for the past 3 hours to get this deck to work. I get absolutely no sound. I used the scosche FDK10B harness because none of the others had the squareish rectangular harness, which is I guess the jbl part. Any ideas? Did I use the wrong harness? I've already ordered four off of amazon... Its getting to be that this would have been cheaper to have a shop do...

ok watching now.

fdk4b is for the older cars. it would have fit my 93, but not my 96. and apparently not your car as well.
fdk10b is the correct harness. they changed plugs, possibly in 95 when they went to double din radios.
don't need the squarish one either.

the black rectangular one goes with what ford called "non premium sound". so it may fit the early non JBL cars. (as well as my f150.) anyway, you're right, it dont work.

right, fdk10b doesn't have the bypass. they didn't really work. i never got it to work anyway.

i'm also at a loss. best i can come up with would be a way to test the head unit and the amp.
so like, put the stock head unit back in, if you have sound, the amp is good.
and i guess put the other head unit in something else, just to verify it does actually work.

i dunno. everything else looks ok...

nice video quality btw. i love me some 1080p.

Haha sorry about that. Gotta love androids. :p The HU works. Pulled it out of my jeep. The amp also works, as the factory radio works. I guess I'll make sure the crimps are tight for the speakers and amp. What'd you end up using if you didn't do the fdk10b?

I'm gonna hook up a voltmeter and T-Pins on each side and see whats up. I'm guessing the speaker wires will carry a noticeable current?

i used the fdk4b in my 93, and the fdk10b in the 96.

and eventually the 93 was completely rewired with a 4 channel amp for the speakers and sub amp for my 15.

The FDK10B was the right one. I guess I'm colorblind. Took $10 for a shop to look at the harness and tell me... I had the amp-turn on plugged into the steering wheel control wire instead of the 12V wire. Part of the problem is that both the radio and amp needed to be spliced into the same 12V wire, which I didn't know before hand. All good to go!
