Warning: A few months ago,Tire Michelin NFG 849 miles.jpgTire Michelin NFG 849 miles 2.jpg my 95 with Michelin Primacys developed cracks near the wheel. Michlien gave me 4 new tires,(only cost me $88 to mount & balance). They had 3K-4K miles on them. Just pulled the CE out and same cracks happening, but only 849 miles. I guess they had a bad run of tires. If you have these tires, check them out. Sidewall cracks are not a good thing on a high speed tire

Thanks, Tony.

I know these are a popular tire for our cars. I'm sure others will appreciate this information.

Have factory 20"s Michelin Primacy on the MKS, will have to inspect them. Just got one new tier yesterday, mom ran over a screw and it was next to the sid wall so they did not repair. But I got extra the insurance for tires, rims, windshield, key fobs and paint less dent repair, so ti was covered after having them look into more to find out I have the coverage. I think the issue was that this dealer is Ford/Lincoln and Nissan. I denied the Lincoln coverage since it was more money and covered less. Then the F&I girl showed me the Nissan plan, and I still said no, then she discounted it and I said ok.

They wanted $595 for 5 years, got it down to $460. The tire that just went flat came to $348.26 with tax, fees, etc. I am sure in the next 4 1/2 years my mom will loose a fob, or curb rash a wheel, so...

That's actually a really good price for that kind of warranty, too.. Nicely negotiated, my friend.

kinda makes me wonder what Ford wants for one of those wheels.... :)

Get this. When a Lincoln goes into a Lincoln dealer for service they are always supposed to wash it before returning it to you. So yesterday I saw it was not washed. So being this is mom's daily driver I let her know that. So when the manager called back she told that to him, and he said yes I was right. So today they sent the service adviser who charged her by mistake for the new tire to pick up the Lincoln and it will be back this afternoon with a full detail. I got my CPO Ford Escape from this place and had my FLEX, FE and even my Mark VIII serviced there once. I got the CPO MKS there because of the good service department and used sales department. I would have got the Flex there but they did not have what I wanted in stock. This was also the dealer that I got the MKZ test drive for the Carlisle weekend a few years back. So they are making up for their little snafu.

Also an FYI, I think any Lincoln or Ford dealer will price match tire rack, etc. They did that when I just got 4 new tires for the Flex. Then I signed up for the Ford service credit card and got $120 back and 0% for 6 months to pay them off.

I called the number on the Nissan plan, gave them the vin, they said I am in the system for all the coverages and they see that the tire claim was already filed. This is the company they are using NIU of Florida, http://www.nationaladjust.com/

I am sure they are a lot. The only caveat with the policy is that they don't repair curb rash on chrome, thought I think they are only chrome inserts on the spokes the rest of the rim is panted. They will replace a rim if it is damaged beyond repair.

Just went to the Michelin dealer with the Primacys off the CE, Cracks starting, with 849 miles on them. He's a little mad because he hasn't gotten his check from Michelin yet, and it's been a few months since he did the ones for the 95. Can't blame him. Time to call Michelin, and get the ball rolling.

Had Michelin's on a few cars. This is the first time I've had problems. 2 sets of the same tire = defect. Michelin tried some bad rubber to save $$, and it's costing them now. The Primacys worked well on the MK VIII's, great ride, and handled well. The replacements, premier a/s seem about the same. Time will tell

Went to another tire store, and new tires are in for the CE. Weather permitting, I'll get them tomorrow. Now to try and get Michelin to pay for mount, and balance. 900 miles, and it's going to cost me $100. I don't think that's right. Michelin says they wont pay because their over 1 year old. First things first, get the tires on the car.

Got the new tires Premier A/S 900 miles ago, paid $80 for M & B. today $100 for M & B. I hope the new ones last a little longer, or I'm gonna go broke with M & B. All my cars have brand new tires, and Friday local dealer's having Grand re-opening party. One of the prizes is a new set of tires, ( not including M & B ), and it'll be my luck to win. Free BBQ, so I'll be there.
