MKX thoughts?

My wife was thinking about getting an Edge a couple of years old. I found that the MKX really isn't much more on the used market and. We were leaning towards the new body style (11+). Anyone have one that they can give some feedback on?

That close in price I would go with the Lincoln. I know Ford is continuing with a redesigned Edge, but i think they MKX may get discontinued

I drove an earlier MKX (2009?) and was surprised by how much low frequency road noise was transmitted into the cabin.. It was a bit of a turn-off for me. If the newer ones are quieter, I'd think it is worth a shot.

I'll have to keep my ears open for that road noise. I drove a 2012 the other day, it drove decent for what it is. It felt pretty smooth and it took some bumpy roads good, but I only drove it for about 5 miles. I'll be looking at a few more MKX's this weekend along with probably a Caddillac SRX, MB GLK350, and whatever else fits into the luxury small SUV category. Although I want to compare to other brands I think the MKX is the most likely candidate.

Well my wife and I looked at cars this weekend. After test driving a few different luxury crossovers the MKX was a hands down winner. We made a decent deal on a really clean AWD, black on black, 2012 MKX. We should be picking it up today or tomorrow. It will be my wife's daily driver for her new short commute.

Yea it's very clean. I had the sales guy bring it to my house. I spent an hour and went through it top to bottom, had it up on jack stands etc. I only found a couple of minor issues that the dealer can fix under warranty before I take it. The PS banjo fitting was seeping, there is a TSB on this. The auto open/close hatch was sticking, it needs new rotors or a resurface sine there was some pulsing, and the rain sensing wipers went off occasionally (another TSB I believe). Cosmetically it was very close to perfect inside and out. There were only a couple of very minor spots on the paint that could be worked out with a buffer, hardly an issue.
