MN dyno day

I'm curious to what my car puts down (albeit peanuts) on the dyno and I think it could be fun to make a day out of it with a few others.

This isn't just for MN people, all are invited. Haven't picked at day and time yet, because I wanted to gauge interest for those interested in strapping down on the rollers. Thinking late April would be best.

Afterwards we can grill and bench race with our dyno sheets. I'll be doing this even if I'm the only one but I could probably work out a deal if I get a group together.

So who's interested?

you know I'm in.

But my car doesn't leave the garage until the snow is gone, and we have a few good hard rains to clear the salt from the roads.. :)

Fack...you're a bad influence Eric. I messaged my tuner and he is checking his schedule to see if he is in town that day. If I join then I'm going to get my 3.33 pulley on the car first. I won't have time to send the converter in and all of that crap but I could get my full effort 12psi tune on open converter. I'll have to go back for lockup adjustment once I get the converter upgraded.

If he is available, the next step is going to be coordinating with Todd down at APS to get access to the dyno that day. He has worked and tuned with him for years.

Fyi, the dyno I speak of is in shakopee just down the road from valley fair if I recall correctly.

pretty much diagonally across the cities from where I live...

However, isn't that also kind of close to where our "Cars and Coffee" event is? we could do a "Show, then Go," so to speak...

Thanks Kirk for getting in contact with them. Sounds like we have about 6 cars so far. I'm only looking for 1 to 2 pulls but if you wanted to spend more time on it, that's fine.

Cars and coffee is the first Saturday of the month from 0800-1100, if we wanted to coincide with that. Chances are that I have to work though. So I am shooting for the 29th or 30th of April.

I know The landing park (fka Murphy's Landing) is a nice park to grill and hang out nearby. Or we can go anywhere really.

Let me know what you need from me Kirk. Chicago people, Illinois people, you guys should come up.

Ok guys. It's a go! The date for the event is going to be Sunday April 30th. Exact time is yet to be determined. There will be a 10-15 car limit due to time constraints. Too many cars and we will simply run out of time.

For just basic pulls on the dyno for numbers the rate will be 5 cars @ $60. If we get 8 or more cars that price drops to $50.

Please note. I do realize that there are some of us that want actual tunes done this day, myself included. We need to put priority to those that want just dyno pulls done, so those cars will go first. I don't see time being an issue for all of this, but just in case it is these are the rules. Whatever time is left will be dedicated to dyno tunes for those that want them. I am first in line on that. ;)

When I find out the exact time the event will start, I will let you guys know and post the directions to the shop here. I'm sure most of us will be travelling together.

So with that said, please post here and tell me if you are in!

For those of you that want actual tunes, Casey needs to know who needs chips/handhelds. Please speak up here.

$400 for tunes. Hardware is extra unless you provide it. He will not be charging extra for time on the dyno. This is a good deal guys!

If I get my suspension done and get 80# injectors in, I'll need a quick retune from Casey. I would need a retune on my E85 and gas programs.

Guys, I think most of us are covered as far as hardware(chip or handheld) but I need to know 2 weeks in advance if anyone needs either one of these if you want a tune and do not have either. This will be an extra cost to the $400 tune price. Please PM me within this timeframe so I can let the tuner know.

Ok final breakdown
-Dyno pulls $60/car ($50 if we have 8 or more)
-Tunes $400 if you have your own hardware (chips or handhelds)

For tuner to provide hardware
-chip tune $650
-tuning using SCT X4 $775

That's what I run as well as "crash" on his corny mark. He stated and I have also read that the 80s are much more user-friendly in terms of idle characteristics with e85. He had problems with 60s on the dyno. Switched to 80s. No problems. Headroom is ok. Keeps duty cycle down as well.

How much to adjust my tune from 60# injectors to 80# injectors?
If that is all the tuning change you need I would try to wheel and deal with Casey in person. I'm sure he will be receptive to your situation. BUT if he is locked out of your current tune he will have to re-write it. Who's tune do you have right now?
