It shall be fun. Also for those attending I will be bringing my grill and a cooler. Grill up some hot dogs and veggie burgers, so if someone could bring some refreshments that would be great.

It'll be a long day but a fun one.

I have an appointment in a couple weeks to get a re-balance on these drag radials. I bought them off of craigslist last year and found that one of them had a "hop" due to crooked tire skin. They balanced them out "ok" last year before I hit the track but after I beat on em again they are really bad. There's not much left on them but I'm going to do my best to get these a little better so it's not hopping on the dyno. I suppose if I lost a power steering cap at the track I could've lost some wheel weights too. LOL

Eric, we should get my pulley on after my re-balance. :wink2-green

Anyone who is getting tuned, I need you to message me the details of your setup as soon as possible so the tuner can put people in a certain order.

Also, do not forget. If you need hardware (chip/handheld)I need you to tell me this by April 15 or you will NOT be getting tuned.

Do you still need details on my setup? I kinda figure you were more than happy to take care of that for me already.. :D

Well than... you throw a tune on that beast yet? :big-grin:
No, for a family hauler it has enough power, and also don't want to mess with it while I still have the extend warranty. A few guy on the Flex forum who do power mods and tuns have blow up their EB engines or powertrain.

I can't argue that it doesn't have enough power and the whole warranty thing. I see a lot of people blowing up stuff when chasing the highest numbers; stay with a tune from Terry at Unleashed and you won't have those problems. Haven't been on the Flex forums but I'm sure Ecobrick Bob from the SHOforum is on there. He's solid in the 12's with his right?

Hey MN guys... when is this dyno day already? I need to live vicariously through you guys! Also I apologize for the thread hijack :embarrassed:

Do you mean Torrie? He use to come here when he was ford parts network or something before ford made him remove ford. Fast responses when you email. Was good at getting us discounted parts for our Mark VIIIs. But yea some of the guys have his tune that have had issues. And some people love his tunes, even some n/a guys.

The Flex is faster then my stock Mark VIII as well as the torque curve is better especially down low. The thing is it is heavier, so that puts a lot of stress on the drivetrain, suspension, etc. So putting down more power you are exposing the weak links with not much extra tolerance. Also some 2012 and the earlier Flex EB have an issue with the water pump bearing and getting coolant in the block. Happened to one guy with a tune. And the PTU has no cooling so once the Ford " life time" fluid over heats it is shot.

Yes sorry, meant Torrie. And now that you mention it his name does sound familiar here.

I know, we take my buddies stock '15 Explorer Sport out to dinner every year at Carlisle, loaded up with 7 people it still moves out very well! All your points are valid I just have the control you do. For the power the EB picks up with just a tune I'd have to do it. And yeah I know about the water pump issues on the 3.5/3.7, sounds like a really fun job. I know the SHO guys are always changing the PTO fluid, so I guess it does burn up pretty quick. The later ones finally have a drain plug for this.

On this note I will stop my thread hi-jack, sorry guys!

Don't worry about hijacking, I know the mods.

The SHO and the police vehicles had cooling and a temp sensor added to the PTU. So they have cooling and and over heat warning.
