Quickest Lincolns of Distinction - DISCUSSION

What if that slip is a 10.999? Also if you look back to my post #649, I state all this new info is recap from Oct. And I still think it's kindy creepy you find the need to post MY stuff. Plus all the threats , insults and belittling is getting kinda old.

It's not a 10.99. I wasn't born last night you are up a smidge in the mph at the 1/8 and your 1000' is stronger than mine unless you literally coughed a rod at the end. Threats? Ooookaaay. The only threat I have for you is 50,000 rpms next year on my impeller.

You could have divulged this ages ago rather than playimg these little childish games like you always do and oh boohoo not happy about this pass and the big guy must like Kirk and then sitting there with this timeslip in your anal cavity for over a month.

Stock Bottom end KING...
Since it's my B-day and I could now die at any second I wanted to party like it's 1999. The Pimp cup is back. Never a doubt.IMG_7961.jpgIMG_8203.jpg

5 100ths of a second? Am I seeing this right? And you came onto MY youtube channel (like a creep....you know cause I'm creepy) and commented "looked slow" ? Oh my god. Lol. This will be tooooooo easy. Fock, I ain't even gotta drop pulley for this and you talk like you put a football field on me. Try one half fender bucko. All I gotta do is fart at the finish line. But I have a lot more than that for you next year. Get ready for a jet change.

I finally got around to processing some of the video I shot at Rockingham on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Not his fastest run of the day but this is the first video that I processed. Still a very respectable run. Too bad he was lined up with a 10 second Dodge Challenger. Makes his run look really slow.

All right. Here's one of the runs. (12.38 @ 112)

I inverted the color on the second time through the video so that you can see the bottom of the car better. I'll look for another run and post it later. JP asked me to share my video so that he can see how the car launches. Hope this helps.

It looks like the car settled nicely. Do you have drag bags? You don't want to waste too much energy squatting. What are your thoughts?

Wow! Awesome video Ron! :)

Looks like a wee bit of rear squat but not too bad. I am still on the factory air suspension, so no 'drag bags' but I do have the adjustable Koni's in the rear adjusted to full max.

Hard to say, but the second video 'sounds like' there may have been a bit of wheel spin at the launch? Couldn't see any on the first.

The only other interest I had was a view of the front lift. Not so much for the lift but for the lift to be level left to right. I've seen some still pics in the past that had me questioning that.

Edit:

Actually, if you look at the rear wheel well as opposed to the rear of the car, there is very little 'squat' from what I can see. And you're right, the car 'settles' back down quite nicely. I need to try to get the ASHAM8 module working again and play with different suspension heights. For now all I do is let it drop to parked height and shut off the air suspension in the trunk.

I'm still amazed how 'soft' the launch appears even with a low 1.8 sixty foot time.

Hey JP.... I am also on factory airride with the Konis adjusted to full firm. I don't think you are doing anything wrong there. For the sake of experimentation you could remove the front sway bar and see how the car responds to that. I dob't know how your susoension is setup otherwise compared to mine but with the poly out back and big addco I was stunned to find out that after removing the front bar sway bar I noticed absolutely ZERO difference in handling on the street other than when I floored it my headlights were now shining up in the trees. Lol.

I had so many factors this year between removing the bar, turning up my tune, and bumping my stall that it is really hard to say how much of an effect that had on my 60s. I did go from high to low 1.5s with this year's combination so the sum of everything together worked well. I do think the converter change had a big role. I look forward to seeing what the Blue Flame does with about a 5000 stall. I think without changing anything else you could see mid 1.7s and ET in the high 11s. Looking good as always! Catching up to those NA 5.3 LSx catfish cars.

Ok. Sorry, I'm not familiar with the Mark VIII air ride suspension configuration. No springs? Is this just your car or are they all that way?

Can anyone share a picture of this configuration. Thanks.

This link explains the stock air suspension which is virtually the same for both generations: Air Suspension Explained

Thanks guys. Interesting. I would think that ditching all that hardware in exchange for performance springs might save some weight ??? I'm sure this has been proposed and discussed long ago ... just a random though from someone who's just seen these photos and diagrams for the first time.

How much does the compressor/dryer/Vent solenoid assembly weigh?
