Relay wire harness.

My 97 wasn't lifting the car like it should be. We hooked up a Star II and got the 75 code for the relay.

Plugged in several used relays with no luck, commanded the compressor and solenoids on with the tester and started "jiggling" the harness. We were able to get it to work with the harness and relay "kinked" in a certain position. So I have a faulty plug going into my air compressor relay.

So my question is: What is the best way to fix it?

- Cut it off and solder in a new/used pig tail.
- Try to remove the pins from the connector (clean, crimp/re-install)
- Cut just the plug off and buy a new aftermarket plug and relay

I have the car at a good hight now with the air ride shut off, and I can just give it a bump again with the tester when she leaks down. Need a permanent fix though.

Is there a new one out there? I can't look up part numbers at the moment. Wouldn't mind a new relay as well.

I know the relay was used on several years/models so I'm sure it's still available and given that I would assume a pigtail harness would still be available.

According to Rockauto:

-FORD EXPEDITION 1997-2012
-FORD FREESTAR 2004-2007
-FORD MUSTANG 1996-1997
-FORD TAURUS 1995-2004
-FORD THUNDERBIRD 1997
-LINCOLN BLACKWOOD 2002
-LINCOLN CONTINENTAL 1995-2002
-LINCOLN MARK VIII 1995-1998
-LINCOLN NAVIGATOR 1998-2012
-MERCURY MONTEREY 2004-2007
-MERCURY SABLE 1995-2004

Rockauto has both the pigtail and the relay
I didn't even think to look there, got a pig tail on order, thank you.

The relay was almost $90 so I decided to just toss a couple used ones in my trunk for spares.

For future reference:

-Relay P# AIRTEX/WELLS 1R1168
-Pigtail P# MOTORCRAFT WPT831

-Also here is the wire diagram for the relay if someone is looking to go aftermarket.

Finally got around to fixing this, now I just need to get new rear bags.

I did find my rear shock was leaking, I was scared that I lost another brake line but luckily I have some used Bilstein's rolling around in the trunk I can install.

The ole girl is showing her age a little bit, but I'm able to stay on top of most issues and haven't had a real problems.
