I received an invite from Kirk last week, indicating he'd be doing some tuning at the track the following saturday, along with a few others. I had the time, so I Joined up.

Kirk, Eric, Mark, Mark's son, and myself met up at a local coffee shop at 6:00 am for the ~1 hour drive to the racetrack.

One of only a couple photos I have of Mark. I think I was racing with him most of the time, so I got very few...

My two most interesting timeslips - Fastest time (I'm car 210.) And the time I raced against the Tesla.

All in all, it was a very good day at the track. No mechanical problems whatsoever, and I think all of us left pretty pleased with our cars' performance. I know I did.
I can't claim to have a 16 second Mark anymore..

Not bad. Not bad at all.

Congratulations to all! Make sure you post your best time slip in the "official" thread - if it is a personal best, so JP can update the list!

Looks like everyone had fun.

I'm glad to see your car did better than before Mike, so was it just the fuel pump that was holding it back?

Thanks for all who came and participated as well as photographed and ran video cameras!

Just some great shots!

All in all, every one of us improved our ETs.

Mike's previously 16 second car got a 15.4 which is almost right in line for a stock Gen2, and with single exhaust only and 230K miles is nothing short of the sign of a well taken care of and good running car.

Mark's CE ran 15.3s awhile back at Brainerd Raceway, and with the addition of a recently added upgraded fuel pump and a well balanced single piece drivesahft, he ran a new best of 15.0

Eric's car has been under the knife most of the year and now has Kooks, 3.73s, and a mild stall. Despite his humble expectations, the car ran a 14.3@94 which far exceeded his expectations.

Big Red had a best of 12.9 under the previous ownership with 2.0-2.1 short times. Now with longtubes and a 4200 stall, despite the warm temperatures, and refusal to lockup in 3rd gear, the car still mustered a 12.29 second pass at just over 111mph.

So in the end, we were all winners. Good job guys!!

Bill: Yup. Unless my new "high performance" sway bar end links had something to do with it also.....

Now what to do the break into the 13's, was thinking about nitrus but that's just cheating. Probably just upgrade the fuel system and free up some HP with an electric water pump.

Electric water pump, Steeda under drive crank pulley, lighter tires/wheels and a dynotune.

I won't be changing the gears or stall unless something brakes. Definitely a dyno tune, electric water pump and new fuel pump. I know lighter wheels will help but I like running street setup because that's where I drive it the most. Just maybe though...

It would be interesting to see where your timing values and air/fuel ratio is at with some datalogging on the street. Both of those things dialed in right will pick up some power for you which will make you quicker. I believe that I was at just around 26 degrees advanced at WOT with Frosty and a/f ratios in the high 12s. The dyno can take that even further and take you as far as they can without detonation to get you the max power. I'm willing to bet, which is the case almost always, that your chip tune is leaving power on the table. With Frosty, the dyno tune picked me up 16rwhp and 22 tq

Underdrive pullies are easy enough and DLF claimed 1 tenth ET from them.
