So... I don't know if I'm just incapable of doing computer stuff or what, but I've literally never been able to get the search function to find anything I want... :frown:

I've been trying to search to find the ford part numbers for the front air bags.
I'm sure this info has been posted 100 times but no matter what I type into the search box, it doesn't matter...

What am I not doing, or doing wrong?

The search functionality of this forum software is absolutely useless. It's a joke. What I do is go to google and type in the following:

site:lincolnsofdistinction.org something

Then bookmark the results. Then just substitute the part after "site:lincolnsofdistinction.org" with what you want to search for. The first part in bold forces google to only search this site. You can use that bookmark any time, and just change "something" to whatever you like. The only issue is that google doesn't sort by date, so it's kind of random.

As for the air bags, just google "motorcraft AVS-16" and "motorcraft AVS-17". Amazon usually has the best prices, but you might find something else better. AVS-16 is passenger side and AVS-17 is drivers side.

Do you use the simple search box at the top of the page or the Advanced Search link? Are you not finding 'hits' or so many hits it is impossible to filter through the list?

I use the Advanced Search and then click the Search Single Content Type page. If I remember the user who posted, I find that helps narrow it down as well. Of course I also try to limit it to the forum of topic.

I honestly don't have much issues finding what I am looking for but Mark's suggestion works well.

I search and find everything I'm looking for, sometimes I use google for foreign sites. But I'd try the advanced search if you're having that much trouble.
