smog test

A week ago I get the notice to take my CE for a smog test. It's not going out in crappy weather. Yesterday I get the notice to take the 94 also for a test. Hope I get some good weather by the end of next month. I wish the cutoff was 20, and not 25 years. After this, the 94, and 95 will only have 1 more test. Always look for the good, at least I'm not in Mass. I don't forsee any problem passing, it's just a pain waking them up early TIP: I always have a brand new gas cap in the box sitting on the front seat.

Good luck with the testing, Tony! I hope you get a nice day to get everyone in, and checked out. Too bad there's not a "car is in storage - defer 3 months" option..

The only problem I've ever had was a bad gas cap. The 95 just went through awhile ago, and the #'s were super low compared to what's allowed, pretty good for 130K miles. I use the 9volt memory minders when I pull the batteries for winter. Holds memory in the brain. Before I used these, I went for a test, and they sent me away, and told me to go drive 100 miles. Brain had no data. Not worried about passing, just a pain, install the batteries, check all the stuff, etc. Was'nt on my to do list, but it'll be fun to take them out for a ride.

Here in Cali, it's bi-annual, so no surprises...I've NEVER seen a Mark VIII, gen 1 or 2, low or high mileage have tailpipe emissions even close to 1/3 the allowable numbers...it's as if they OVER-DID the whole "smog equipment" thing...they are probably the cleanest emission cars I've ever had to smog.
