I'll presume you're talking of the front k-member. It could be replaced with enough wrenching time but I would seriously wonder what the condition of the remainder of the undercarraige would be to justify the effort.

For the time/money/effort, I'd start with a better car.
I own a 68 Mustang which had a restoration about 15 years back. Many of the frame and body pieces are new. Was it worth it? I dunno, car has been in the family for awhile so its kinda neat.

Is your MarkVIII dangerous? I also don't know. I drove a 77 Firebird with holes in the floor. Then again I also moved the drive train to another F-body eventually.

Not sure I'd BUY a car with holes unless the price was REALLY good. Also, if I found some in my beater I doubt I'd get rid of it immediately. How much longer will this 230,000 mile 20 year old car of mine last anyway? 5 years?

What are the checks to make sure this is a safe car guys?

How are the fame pieces by your rear control arm mounts?
