I replaced CREMPF's fuel pump and filter a few months ago. But she still had hard cranking and sometimes a miss. I replaced the fuel pump controller module -- that didn't help. Pressure testing the new pump, I found low start pressure and no anti-back flow action. The fuel rail must remain pressurized to give short cranking times.
So I pulled the pump and receipts and went to my buddies at O'Reilly. I bought another pump and replaced it this weekend. I took the old one back and got credit. FYI -- you had better be able to show a receipt for a new fuel filter, or the 1 year warranty is void.
They took the old pump and my original receipts for the fuel pump and for the filter. Since they couldn't find proof of my filter receipt in their computer, I purchased another filter just to CMA in the warranty department.
Good pressures now and I'm seeing pressure being sustained when you turn it off. There was NONE when you turned off the old pump. It bled down instantly. We'll see how sitting overnight and that first start in the morning does.
I told Vivian the labor warranty on the old pump has already expired. She let me live.
